An Action-Packed August
At Rubislaw Park Care Home, we have had a busy August full of activities and events. It is important to us that we meet all of our resident's needs, both medically and personally, and we strive to support their overall wellbeing.
We recognise the positive impact that a varied and active lifestyle can have on our residents, which is why we strive to provide them with exceptional all-inclusive facilities, and a weekly activities programme that provides opportunities to continue hobbies, pursue new interests and build relationships.
Over the course of this month, residents have participated in activities of all types, from chair exercises and choir practice to happy hours and day trips out. When the weather allowed, we made the most of it by taking strolls in nearby green spaces and spending time out in our expansive garden.
We also received a generous donation to our Summer Raffle from one of our lovely staff members, Helia. Helia is an amazing artist who creates fantastic paper flowers and handmade baskets and boxes and very kindly helped package our raffle prizes.
Our home dog Brodie also got lots of attention this month and his ongoing training sessions have been very successful. If he wasn't receiving cuddles and belly rubs from the residents, he was out in the garden with our staff members learning a new trick. The residents love having Brodie around and he's very good at encouraging light activity, socialising and reminiscence.
As we wind down our summer activities in Aberdeen over the next few weeks and approach Autumn, our team will be preparing lots of different activities and events for our residents to look forward to. We value each and every resident for who they are, and our team goes to great lengths to create a programme that covers all of our resident's interests.
