Our commitment to ongoing education

At Rubislaw, we are committed to supporting the ongoing education of our staff. Extra support and learning enhance the care and experience we provide our residents with. There are always new advancements in the field of care, and we always try to keep abreast of the best practices to help our residents be happier, healthier, and more comfortable.

We are delighted to announce a co-venture with Aberdeen Medical School, involving a week-long training initiative to enhance the knowledge of all our staff.

Why is it important that we develop our skills?

We recognize and fully support the need for ongoing education. Supporting our staff to enhance current skills and learn new ones ensures our residents are cared for by the best team of nurses and carers.

The teaching event is being delivered by highly trained medical staff who are experts on the current medical student curriculum. We are delighted that we have secured the state-of-the-art mobile ward, which will be on-site for the duration of the program. The mobile classroom will allow our staff to learn using the most advanced medical educational tools, and we are privileged to co-venture this initiative.

Collaborative working with our NHS colleagues allows us to share practices and achieve positive outcomes for our service users. We anticipate:

  • Greater staff happiness and team building.
  • Improved knowledge of best practices in medical emergencies and day-to-day medical situations.
  • Enhanced care and comfort for our residents.

The benefits of ongoing training

Ongoing training is essential in the healthcare sector. It ensures that our staff are up-to-date with the latest medical practices and technologies. Continuous learning helps in:

  • Providing Better Care: Equipped with the latest knowledge, our staff can offer improved care to residents.
  • Boosting Confidence: Staff feel more confident and competent in their roles, leading to a more positive work environment.
  • Encouraging Professional Growth: Continuous education opens up new opportunities for career advancement and personal growth.

How can families get involved?

We have extended the invite to attend clinical skills sessions to our relatives who are keen to be involved in learning skills that may be invaluable during emergencies. This initiative allows families to:

  • Gain Insight: Understand the level of care their loved ones receive.
  • Learn Valuable Skills: Acquire skills that could be useful in emergencies.
  • Build Confidence: Feel more confident in their ability to assist their loved ones if needed.

Future training initiatives

Rubislaw Park Care Home in Aberdeen is dedicated to continuous improvement. We plan to introduce more training programs in the future, focusing on various aspects of healthcare and wellbeing. Stay tuned for updates on upcoming initiatives and opportunities for involvement.
