Making Plans for Our Spring Garden Projects

In a bid to enrich the lives of our residents and create a vibrant outdoor space, Rubislaw Park Care Home is set to undergo a significant transformation of our gardens.

We are known for actively encouraging the use of our expansive outdoor space, Rubislaw Park is blessed to have beautiful, landscaped gardens that attract a variety of wildlife, including a family of red deer, squirrels, and a myriad of wild birds.

After careful consideration and collaborative discussions with residents, their families, and staff, we are now in the planning stages of an extensive scope of work for our garden areas. The project aims to not only enhance the living experience for residents but also to create a welcoming space for families and visitors.

Rubislaw Park is working closely with contractors to finalise a comprehensive plan of projects for the gardens, with support from a dedicated relative committee. The proposed enhancements are planned to begin in early spring.

Among the planned improvements are the establishment of an outdoor café and an abundance of new plantings and flower beds. These additions aim to provide a lively and colorful space that not only elevates residents' lives but also facilitates various outdoor events hosted by the home throughout the year.

The project's design places a strong emphasis on sensory support, recognising the profound impact that engaging with nature has on residents' overall well-being. Furthermore, Rubislaw Park is committed to using environmentally friendly products throughout the construction process, aligning with its dedication to sustainability.

The activities team is already laying the groundwork for the grand opening of the refreshed outdoor area, envisioning an outdoor summer concert following the success of the earlier "Evening of Elegance" held this year. The new space will aim to provide residents, including those with physical and cognitive impairments, the opportunity to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of outdoor activities in a carefully curated environment.
