Official Extension Opening
We recently opened our new extension at our annual garden party, which has created an additional 16 rooms plus associated dining, social and recreational areas for residents.
Around 20 new jobs have also been created at our award-winning care home, and we were recently awarded our first ever grade six marks by regulatory body, the Care Inspectorate earlier this year.
The official opening was performed by Ross Thomson, Scottish Conservative MP for Aberdeen South, assisted by resident Bert and Jean Inkson who were celebrating their 69th wedding anniversary on the day.
Our multi-award winning home has been the focus of ongoing investment since it's acquisition by family-run business Rubislaw Park Care LLP. To date, work has involved the rejuvenation of rooms and the creation of a new restaurant/dining room, a bar, a celebration room for private functions, a spa salon and library.
In addition, our revitalised home - which is set in large, secure and accessible gardens - now offers long-term nursing care as well as residential care which was previously available, and care for residents with dementia.
Commenting on the opening of the extension, Ross Thomson said: "I was delighted to accept the invitation to attend the annual garden party and officially open this new extension."
"Rubislaw Park Care Home is already a first-class facility, set in quite beautiful surroundings in the west end of Aberdeen."
"This latest investment will improve the offering even further, providing more rooms and space for recreation and socialising. Importantly, it will also create 20 new local jobs. I wish the business every success in the future."
Our Rubislaw Care Director Kristin Jackson-Brown added: " The opening of this extension represents an important step forward in our facilities, and we were delighted that Ross, Bert and Jean were able to help us celebrate the completion of this significant investment in care at Rubislaw Park Care Home."
