After the recent news of Queen Elizabeth II passing at nearby Balmoral Castle, the residents of Rubislaw Park were visited by STV and interviewed about what the news meant to them.

Whilst many of our residents shared their sadness, disbelief, and gratitude for the late Queen, one resident had a very special story to share with us.

Reminiscing on her time serving as a Metropolitan Police Officer for 30 years in London, Jean spoke about when she met the Queen Mother and when she was on duty for many of the Queen's Engagements.

When asked "Will there ever be anybody like Queen Elizabeth II?", Jean responded, "Not in the world, not in the world. She was sweet, when she looked at you you wanted to take a cuddle and smile at her...".

It was lovely to hear of the fond memories our residents in Aberdeen had of the Queen and it was particularly special for us at Rubislaw Park to be a part of this segment with STV.

Residents have continued to pay their respects and remember the Queen for her lifetime of service.
