Rubislaw Park 2017 Award Nominations
Our home is in the running for two major industry awards in recognition of our work.
We have been shortlisted in the Dementia Care Team and Catering Team of the Year at the Caring UK Awards, a new annual event that recognises excellence and achievement within the care sectory throughout the country.
The awards are organised by Script Events in conjunction with leading care industry magazine Caring UK, with support from headline sponsor Clydesdale/Yorkshire Bank, and in each category up to six finalists have been selected. We will now go through to the next stage of the judging process where we will be out to impress by showcasing first-hand the great work going on in our home.
This stage involves a visit to each finalist by a member of the awards team who will take a look around our facilities and chat to members and staff before compiling a comprehensive report, which will then be passed on to an expert judging panel to decide the worthy winners.
Trophies will then be presented at a glittering awards ceremony on Friday December 8th at The National Railway Museum in York.
Rubislaw Park Care Home has been the focus of a multimillion pound investment programme since its acquisition by family-run business Rubislaw Care LLP. To date, work has involved the rejuvenation of rooms and lounges and the creation of a new restaurant/dining room, a bar, a celebration room for private functions, a spa salon and library.
During a recent routine inspection by the Care Inspectorate, our Home achieved grade five status in the areas of quality of care and support, quality of environment, quality of staffing and quality of management and leadership.
Commenting on our success so far, our Director of Care Kristin Jackson-Brown said: “Reaching this stage of the awards is testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone on the team, and we are now crossing our fingers for a good night on December 8th!”
