Spectacular Lunar New Year Celebration

At Rubislaw Park, we love embracing cultural traditions that bring joy, connection, and a sense of community. This month, residents and staff got together to welcome the Lunar New Year in a very colourful fashion. Residents were treated to a spectacular lion dance performance, a vibrant and energetic tradition symbolising good fortune and joy.

The star of the show was a spectacular lion dance performance—an age-old tradition believed to bring good luck and happiness for the year ahead. The energy was infectious as the beautifully decorated pink lion danced its way through the garden and into our home, moving in time with the beat of the drums. Residents were absolutely captivated, with many getting up close for a friendly nuzzle and a photo!

Of course, no celebration is complete without delicious food. Everyone enjoyed a traditional Chinese meal, specially prepared by a local restaurant, which gave us the perfect chance to sit down together, chat, and experience the rich flavours of the occasion. At Rubislaw Park, we believe in the power of connection and the importance of embracing different cultures.
