Success at The Scottish Care Awards for Rubislaw Park

On the 17th of November, the prestigious Scottish Care Awards took place at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow, recognising excellence in the care home sector across 13 award categories. Among the finalists, Rubislaw Park Care Home, situated in the West End of Aberdeen, stood out as a nominee for the coveted Care Home Service of the Year Award.

To their immense joy, Rubislaw Park emerged as the winner in their category, receiving the award from Michelle McManus in front of an enthusiastic audience and supportive colleagues.

Gayle Duthie, Rubislaw Park Care Home Manager commented:

"We were so delighted to have been selected as a finalist, this in itself was fantastic recognition for the amazing work of my team and then to come away as the category winner was a most special moment for everyone at the home, my team and our amazing residents and relatives".     

Gayle went on to further comment; "I have had the pleasure of leading the Rubislaw Park team for three years and in that time we have secured Care Inspectorate grades of 5’s in every key question, have engaged with the local NHS trust to provide a bespoke service to residents at the end of life and are currently the only service involved in this project and are independently reviewed as the best care home in the Aberdeen city area by the trusted site of Carehome.co.uk. The team works tirelessly to ensure that all of our residents receive the very best person-centred care and feel valued. It’s so much more than a job to them, our team cares deeply for our residents and their loved ones. To say that I am proud is an understatement concluded Gayle. I am privileged to work with such a kind and dedicated team and the recognition this brings to the home and the residents is nothing more that the team deserves, they are simply the best".
